The Department of Energy and Environment, along with its partners, invites building architects, landscape architects, designers, developers, property management professionals, facility managers/engineers, bird experts, bird lovers, and wildlife advocates to attend this workshop on bird-safe building design.
Presenters include the District's Department of Energy and Environment, City Wildlife, American Bird Conservancy, Smithsonian National Zoological Park, AIA-DC, and Quinn Evans Architects.

This workshop will give you a better understanding of:
    * The scope of the problem - bird strikes, bird deaths and "problem" buildings in the District
    * Building design for new buildings and retrofitting existing buildings
    * DC building codes and policies
    * Case Study, Bird House - Experience Migration, Smithsonian National Zoological Park
